Virender Sehwag’s Son Aaryavir Smashes 173 Off 143 in Vinoo Mankad Trophy

Virender Sehwag’s Son Aaryavir Smashes 173 Off 143 in Vinoo Mankad Trophy

With an incredible knock of 173 in the current Vinoo Mankad Trophy, India’s top under-19 one-day competition, Aaryavir Sehwag, the son of renowned India opener Virender Sehwag, has drawn attention from cricket experts and fans worldwide. Aaryavir started the batting for Delhi U19 against Chandigarh U19, smashing 173 off just 143 balls with 19 boundaries and eight sixes. This knock demonstrates why Aaryavir has the potential to be a future star. Aaryavir recently made a good impression during his India U19 debut.

In the Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2026–27, which began on October 8, Aaryavir is captain of the Delhi U19 team. Before the partnership was broken, he and Arnav Bugga opened the batting and amassed 98 runs in 13.2 overs. Up until Sreshth Duggal removed him in the 46th over, Aaryavir remained the innings’ anchor. Aaryavir’s knock accounted for the majority of Delhi U19’s 50-over total of 289/6.

With Delhi U19 stranded in last place in Group E of the ongoing Vinoo Mankad Trophy, the 18-year-old has been one of the team’s few bright spots. In a recent three-game youth one-day series, Aaryavir made his debut for India U19. He performed admirably, scoring 109 runs in three games, with a top score of 47. There is a lot of attention associated with being the son of one of India’s best openers ever, Virender Sehwag. Nonetheless, Aaryavir has often demonstrated why he is a highly recognised talent.

NDTV Sports quotes Virendra Sehwag saying, “I am very proud of Aaryavir Sehwag. I gave him advice that, you know, pressure is there but go out there and play freely. Express yourself, don’t worry that you have to score big runs. If you express yourself, the big runs will automatically come. But if you think about big runs, then I don’t think the big runs will come.”

In the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, Aaryavir is not the only son of a renowned cricket player. Rahul Dravid’s son, Anvay Dravid, has been playing brilliantly for Karnataka U19, collecting both a knock of 85 off 41 and an explosive century.
