Seven players from the England Men’s white-ball teams who will play Sri Lanka later this month are included in the expanded roster. The T20 team includes Tom Banton, James Coles, Aneurin Donald, Will Jacks, Jamie Overton, and Saqib Mahmood; Henry Crocombe was selected from the ODI team.

The games will take place on Friday, September 11, at the Ambassador Cruise Line Ground in Chelmsford, and on Sunday, September 13, at the County Ground in Beckenham.
In addition to giving the next generation of county players a chance to focus on their Rothesay County Championship obligations, the extended squad enables England players to get ready for the forthcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka, which starts with the first Vitality IT20 at the Utilita Bowl on Tuesday, September 15.
Mason Crane, Tom Hartley, and Luke Wood, three capped England internationals, are also included in the larger 20-player group. Additionally included are Caleb Falconer, Ben Mayes, and Joe Moores, three players who helped the Young Lions get to the ICC Under-19 Men’s World Cup final earlier in 2026. In order to accommodate Rothesay County Championship obligations, selectors have designed the extended squad to strike a balance between senior practice and growth opportunities for up-and-coming players.
